'Manchester United's problems are the players, the organisation, the ambition': Jose Mourinho blasts his former club

'Manchester United's problems are the players, the organisation, the ambition': Jose Mourinho blasts his former clubPortuguese coach, Jose Mourinho has taken a swipe at his former employer, Manchester United after the club suffered an embarrassing season that saw them finished 6th on the Premier League table. The 56-year-old was sacked as United boss back in December after a disappointing start to the season saw United fall way behind their top-four rivals and a public falling-out with record-signing Paul Pogba on the training ground. When asked in a recent interview with  L'Equipe whether French midfielder Paul Pogba was the biggest problem at Manchester United,  Mourinho said:'The problems are there, you can say that these are the players, the organisation, the ambition, I only say that I cannot say yes when you ask if Paul was the only one responsible,' Mourinho told'I said nine or 10 months ago that after winning eight championships, finishing second with United may have been my greatest achievement,' he added. 'Now people understand.'I do not always do my analysis publicly on Manchester United. I do not want to talk about it and I have the feeling that I do not need to speak, that time gives explanations. 'About United I want to say only two things: One is that time has spoken. Two is that the problems are still there.'Mourinho also took a thinly veiled swipe at his successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer:  'Generally, the players can feel a certain erosion, especially when you ask a lot of them.'When I say that the second season was fantastic, I say it because the potential and the objectives were met.'I really squeezed, like an orange, to achieve them. When you have a very professional group of players who are ambitious, hard-working and talented, at a structured club, you don't have that erosion.'When you are almost alone, in that you don't have the support of the club close to you, while certain players go somewhat against the coach, who is the nice guy.'I don't want to be the nice guy, because the nice guy, after three months, is a puppet and that doesn't end well.'  The post 'Manchester United's problems are the players, the organisation, the ambition': Jose Mourinho blasts his former club appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has stopped the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from investigating Bukola Saraki, Senate President of Nigeria.   The EFCC had said it would investigate Saraki’s earning while he was the Governor of Kwara State from 2003 to 2011. Saraki, who described the investigation as a witch-hunt, approached the court, filing two charges in order to restrain the anti-graft agency from probing his earnings and emoluments.   Sunday Onubi, Saraki’s lawyer, charged Abubakar Malami, Attorney General of the Federation; Department of State Services; Muhammed Adamu, Inspector General of Police; Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC); and Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT); alongside the EFCC.   Justice Taiwo Taiwo who presided over the case ordered the EFCC to suspend the probe. Delivering the ruling, Justice Taiwo stated that the interim order is in the exercise of “its discretion judicially and judiciously applied by the law and statues.”  He added, “By the provision of Order 4(3) of the Fundamental Rights Civil Procedure Rules, 2009, the court may, if satisfied that the applicant may be caused hardship before the service of an application where liberty or life of the applicant is involved hear the application ex parte upon such interim reliefs as the justice of the application may demand.I am of the view, after due consideration of the aforesaid, that this court ought to make the order being sought by the applicant pending the hearing and determination of the originating motion on notice.”The post Court restrains EFCC from Investigating Senate President, Bukola Saraki appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.

"Ashawo no get pride and dignity" - Actor Okon says as he defends police raping women arrested in Abuja clubs (video)

Actor, Imeh Bishop Umoh is being dragged by web users after he took to Instagram to defend policemen who raped women after they arrested them in Abuja clubs. Shortly after the arrest, Nigerian women did a street march to protest the sexual abuse of single women found clubbing. But Imeh did not agree the women were raped by the policemen who arrested them and demanded sex for bail. The said policemen allegedly used pure water sachets to rape those who couldn't post bail. Imeh Bishop stated that  there is no way what the policemen did to those women can be termed rape because rape is forcefully taking a woman's dignity, but sex workers do not have any dignity that can be taken, according to him. He added that the policemen simply stole from the women because they forcefully took the product they are selling (sex) and did not pay. Therefore what the policemen did should be seen as theft, not as rape. Imeh said in a video shared to his Instagram:  There is a campaign going on on social media. Women, they go around, they do protest that police in Abuja they go and arrest commercial sex workers, that's ashawo, and then they rape them.Well, that is a wrong charge. The charge should not be rape because there's a difference between rape and stealing. For rape now, na to just go... you go to have sex and collect by force, and take away their dignity and self pride wey ashawo no get.Ashawo no get self pride and dignity. So what happened there actually is stealing because those police now, if and only if they really went and forcefilly collect... and steal wetin this ashawo dey sell and they no pay money and they just waka and go away like that. So, that is stealing of their product and merchandise.        View this post on Instagram           A post shared by Lindaikejiblog (@lindaikejiblogofficial) on May 15, 2019 at 6:51am PDT A number of web users have criticized Imeh and asked him to take down the video but he is yet to take action. The post "Ashawo no get pride and dignity" - Actor Okon says as he defends police raping women arrested in Abuja clubs (video) appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.

Tonto Dikeh's ex-husband, Olakunle Oladunni Churchill has reacted after a follower alluded to him being a "40 seconds" man as his ex-wife alleged. Tonto had claimed during an interview that her ex was suffering from premature ejaculation which makes him last only 40 seconds during sex. A lot of people felt it was inappropriate for Tonto to try to shame her ex that way by mentioning such and they cautioned her. Meanwhile, Churchill ignored the jab. But he was moved to react after a follower commented about it on his photo. "40 sec makes one..." the follower wrote and added a crown and love emoji. And Churchill replied: "Of course not, don't be deceived. you cannot undermine an ex military boy... Police arrest petrol station attendants for conniving with ATM fraudsters in Abuja

The Police Command in Abuja have arrested four filling station attendants and their manager for allegedly conniving with suspected fraudsters who stole an Automated Teller Machine card belonging to one Alhaji Usman Ahmadu and withdrew N950,000 from his account.   The suspected fraudsters are Ernest Mensah, 23, a Ghanaian, who claimed to have been born in Anambra State; Obiuwevbi Ogheneovo, 23; and Urunmatsoma Hendrix, 21, explained that they swapped Ahmadu’s card with a fake card when he approached Mensah for assistance at an ATM point in Gwarimpa, Abuja, on March 29. Parading the suspects and others for various crimes at the FCT Police Command on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, explained that Ahmadu complained to the police that his card got stuck in the ATM, adding that around  1.30am on March 30, he received a debit alert of N950,000. Ciroma stated that upon receiving the complaint, police detectives with the cooperation of the bank officials identified and arrested the suspects. He said, “The suspects, who admitted to the crime, stated that on that fateful day, the victim, who went to withdraw money at the ATM was finding it difficult to do so.“He then asked them for assistance and in the process, they swapped his card with their own fake card. On how they got his PIN, they said the gang leader stood directly behind the victim and since the card was fake, he had to enter the pin several times.“They then moved to the filling station on the Kubwa Expressway, where they have an accomplice by name Henry, who used POS to transfer the money into their account and remitted cash equivalent to the company.” The CP stated that the filling station attendants, Henry Elvis, 34; Taiwo Aderinto, 36; Solomon Ojuola, 35; Mary Igoh,26; and the station manager, Elizabeth Okeagu, 43, were also arrested for allegedly assisting the suspected fraudsters to withdraw the N950,000. Mensah told journalists that he swapped Ahmadu’s ATM card with the fake one, adding that he enlisted the support of one of the filling station attendants to withdraw money through the station’s POS. “She transferred the N950,000 from the account to NNPC’s account and gave me cash. I tipped her N5,000 for assisting me,” he said, adding that he had similarly stolen three ATM cards belonging to unsuspecting bank customers. The post Police arrest petrol station attendants for conniving with ATM fraudsters in Abuja appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.

Igbo man defends woman who generalized and accused all Igbo men of being "insufferable and misogynistic"

An Igbo woman stirred up a hornet's nest by accusing all Igbo men of being misogynists who try to control and undermine women (read here). Now, an Igbo man has shared a thread to defend her while calling out his fellow tribe's men. Solomon Buchi, a life coach, said it is wrong to stereotype but pointed out that stereotypes sometimes have truths in them. He then went on to point out facts that make him agree with the controversial post accusing Igbo men of being control freaks. He accused Igbo men of acting like "demigods" when they have money and forcefully trying to turn their wives to housewives. He said they see women as the "lesser gender" and are obsessed with male children. He started the thread by writing: "If I say that Igbos are hardworking, a lot of y’all will nod and agree with me. But if I say that Igbo men are typically misogynistic, you bash and cuss me out. Why would you agree to a conclusive positive statement and not take criticisms that way too?" See the rest of his tweets below.  The post Igbo man defends woman who generalized and accused all Igbo men of being "insufferable and misogynistic" appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.

Top Interior Design Trends for 2019

In reality, a well-planned space is timeless — nonetheless, it does not stop us from taking a cue from current, cutting-edge trends. And although, some elements of interior decor will never go out of style, interior design trends come and go, leaving us watching out for something innovative and avant- garde year after year. In 2018, we experienced and even infused new trends such as Scandi- styling, wall art, geometric prints, mixed metals, and maximalism to mention a few. However, as 2019 kicks-o, we at Teal Harmony intend to translate interior design from the function- focused design movement to a mix of art-inspired elements and brighter colour pallets. Major interior design trends will see the juxtaposition of more organic shapes, fun décor, new pastels, clashing prints, linear lights, sustainable furniture, big and bold plants, and gold accents. Every time is always a good time to embrace what works and say goodbye to what does not, so why wait? Folakemi Oloye is readily inspired by how design and architecture largely inuence everyday lives. Her relentless passion for design has led to creating harmonious and beautiful spaces with the aim of enhancing lifestyles. Folakemi Oloye - Founder & Creative DirectorShe is a multi-faceted designer who has created interiors from residential, hospitality, commercial, to retail everywhere, as well as lifestyle products. 85 Interior Decor Orange is back!!! Some will cringe at the thought of this cliched colour, however...  History repeats itself as the' living coral' is now being dubbed 'the Pantone of 2019'. This also applies to all shades of orange – from coral pink, to pastel peach, to dark rust, to deep chocolate brown, etcetera. Also, huge this year— Curves. From curvy tiles, to curved sofas, to round dining tables – Circular shapes are perfect for softening up straight lines and edges, giving any space a dash of the feminine vibe. It's a bit of Art Deco inuence coming into play and probably a reaction to its counterpart as seen in Mid-Century designs.  Combining natural elements and organic vibes – whether it is through infusing natural materials, plants or simple inspirations taken from the great outdoors will be used to provide a sense of relaxation and nature, perfect for brands that want to encourage customers to linger. A Perfect example is our design of Delphi Metals jewelry store where we have used mid-tone woods for ooring and cladding. Even Financial institutions are ditching the austere look of whites and greys for more natural and home away from home look with warmer colours. 84The post Top Interior Design Trends for 2019 appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.

Woman accuses SARS of killing her brother and depositing his body in a morgue without contacting them

A woman has taken to Facebook to accuse SARS officers of killing her brother then dumping his body in a morgue without informing them. Martha Yellowe revealed early in April that her youngest brother Solomon Yellowe was missing after he left his school Uniport to withdraw money from an ATM in March.  His family kept searching for him and they later discovered that he was allegedly arrested on March 13 by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, a unit of the Nigerian Police Force. Martha said her brother was healthy at the time of his arrest but he was dead by the next day and they deposited his body in the morgue and never informed his family even though they kept visiting their station to inquire. She said the officers denied ever arresting their brother. She said they finally discovered their brother was dead more than a month after he was killed. His body was discovered in the mortuary on the 26th of April. She is now calling on well-meaning Nigerians to help get justice for her slain brother. She wrote:  Tough times indeed for my entire family but in all His grace and mercies are keeping us strong. My younger brother Solomon Yellowe, the last born of the family, left Uniport campus after a test to withdraw money from a bank's atm on the 13th of March. Not long after he was arrested by SARS. By 14th of March my brothers lifeless body was deposited at UPTH mortuary by the same SARS that arrested him. They never contacted us despite knowing that we were looking for him. We went to their station several times and they continuously denied ever arresting any Solomon Yellowe. It was on the 26th of April that we finally discovered my brother's body at the mortuary. He was healthy at the time of his arrest and was taken to SARS, Rukpokwu where he was subsequently murdered the next day. He was tortured to death...My brother had never been arrested before nor does he have any record of criminal activity. We have also not received any information of a complaint against him.Yet he was killed by police without any regard to his family.Pls I want to urge every one on this platform, in anyway you can to assist us to get justice for my brother, Solomon, whose life was cut short for no apparent reason.SignedAnna Yellowe-West The post Woman accuses SARS of killing her brother and depositing his body in a morgue without contacting them appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
