Lookman doubtful for Leipzig clash against Augsburg

England born Super Eagles eligible, Ademola Lookman is a major doubt for RB Leipzig as they face Augsburg today in the deciding fixture of the German Bundesliga for the 2019/2020 season.

The former Everton attacker sustained a minor groin and pelvis injury in training last week Friday two days after playing from the bench in their 2-2 draw at home already relegated Fortuna Dusseldorf and only resumed training on Thursday.
SportingLife scooped that the striker who has already pledged his allegiance to Nigeria is set to be rested to allow him to fully regain match fitness and be ready for the start of a new season.
The 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup winner with England won’t be available to face his Nigerian compatriots at Augsburg: Felix Uduokhai and Noah Sarenren Bazee.
The 22-year-old has featured in 11 league games for the Red Bulls but yet to score any goal for the Champions League quarterfinalists since he joined RB Leipzig permanently last July.
Besides, Lookman, other RB Leipzig players who are also doubts or injured and out of the game include Yussuf Poulsen (ankle), Marcel Sabitzer (knee), Hannes Wolf (ankle), Ethan Ampadu (match fitness), Emil Forsberg (knee), Konrad Laimer (illness) and Patrick Schick (knee).

Leipzig who are through to the last eight of the current Champions League have virtually picked another ticket to the next season Champions League (with 63 points and a good goals difference) but they will need at least a draw at Augsburg to be really certain in case the unthinkable happens at the BayArena where Bayer Leverkusen (who are on 60 points) host Mainz also today.
